Gravity Forms 2.8 – Introducing Compact View
Ever struggled to get a clear overview of your forms while working in the form editor?
Ever found it difficult to to locate a specific field in the form, especially with lengthy forms that contain lots of fields?
If so, you’ll love the new Compact View feature that was added to Gravity Forms 2.8.
At the touch of a button, you can switch to Compact View in the Gravity Forms drag-and-drop editor.
Doing so gives you a streamlined view of your form and its contents, including the fields, labels, and other components.
In Compact View, you’ll find it much easier to navigate and edit your forms.
You’ll also find it more convenient to add new fields to the form, drag and drop existing fields into new positions, customize the form layout, and just get a better overview of your forms when using Compact View.
If you’re using a small screen or working on a large form with lots of fields, you’ll find Compact View even more beneficial.
Switching between regular and Compact View only takes a few clicks, making it easy to switch.
Creating and editing forms in Compact View doesn’t have any impact on how your published forms will look — the minimized view is only available while you’re working in the Gravity Forms editor.

Update to Gravity Forms 2.8.2 Today
Gravity Forms 2.8.2 is now available to install. You can install the update from your WordPress Admin or download it from your Gravity Forms account dashboard.

- Added security enhancements.
- Fixed an issue where the datepicker does not work in the repeater field.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes causes extra spacers to be added to forms.
- Fixed an issue where conditional logic rules based on anything but the first choice of a radio or checkbox field do not work in forms created in Gravity Forms 2.8.1. Users will need to delete and re-create the conditional logic rules to fix the issue.
- AF: Fixed an issue where the readonly attribute is not added to settings fields.
