Brand New Release-Slack 2.1

We’re pleased to announce an update for our Slack Add-On. Version 2.1 contains a number of additions and fixes, including…

  • Added support for async (background) feed processing to improve form submission performance.
  • Fixed an issue that shows deleted users in Feed Settings.

Notify Your Team When a Form Is Submitted

The Slack Add-On gives you a quick and easy way to integrate Gravity Forms with Slack, enabling your team to be notified in Slack the moment a form entry has been submitted.

Having messages created in Slack based on form entries gives you and your team a quick way to respond or take action. For example, if a form entry contains a support query, a message can be automatically created in your support channel in Slack. This would notify your support team that a new issue has been reported and they need to take action.

Alternatively, if you receive orders via the forms on your site, the integration can be set up to notify the relevant people in Slack so that they can start processing the order.

If your organization uses Slack, then this add-on gives you a way to notify your team where they’re hanging out, rather than them having to keep an eye on their email inboxes or the WordPress Admin to stay on top of form entry submissions.

Thanks to the add-on functionality, you can also configure the integration so that only the relevant people get notified in Slack without disturbing everyone in your team.

Features of the Slack Add-On

Here are the main features you’ll find with the Gravity Forms Slack Add-On…

  • Send a Message to Slack – Send a message to a specific channel, group, or individual within Slack when a form entry is submitted. Creating multiple feeds for your form lets you send the message to multiple locations or people in Slack.
  • Configure the Message – The message that’s sent to Slack can be configured to meet your needs. Using a combination of static text and merge tags gives you the ability to easily include form entry content in the message. This ensures the recipients in Slack have all the information they need.
  • Attach Files – Files submitted via the form can also be included in the message that’s sent to Slack, including image files and any other documents that are uploaded.
  • Use Conditional Logic — The Gravity Forms conditional logic functionality can be used with the Slack Add-On, giving you more control over when and how Slack messages are generated. For example, you could create a condition where only form submissions containing specific content or selections are sent to Slack or sent to specific people.

The Slack Add-On documentation covers how to set up this integration, while this blog post about the add-on goes into more depth on what it can do.

Note: The Slack Add-On is available with both the Gravity Forms Pro and Elite licenses. For more information on the features and other add-ons available on these plans, check out our Pro and Elite license pages.
