Gravity Forms v1.7.7 Released

Gravity Forms v1.7.7 is now available via automatic update and the downloads page. While vX.X.X releases going forward will only contain updates, bug fixes, refinements and NO new features, v1.7.7 does include some new features. Only vX.X releases will contain new features going forward. On that note, i’m also please to announce that development on Gravity Forms v1.8 has begun!

One of the new features in v1.7.7 is an easter egg! We aren’t telling you what it is… yet. The first person to comment on this release announcement and correctly guess what the feature is, will win a free Gravity Forms renewal. Maybe we’ll even throw in a free upgrade if you don’t already have a Business or Developer License! If nobody guesses correctly, we’ll post another blog post at the beginning of next week revealing the new feature and it’s details. Here’s a hint… it has to do with Entries.

The other new feature is support for the Touch Punch script which makes jQuery UI touch enabled. Touch Punch is a core WordPress script so we are able to implement this without introducing new scripts within Gravity Forms. The primary benefit of this feature is it makes any functionality that uses jQuery UI’s draggable, droppable or sortable touch enabled and will work on touch enabled mobile devices, tablets and touch screens.

Implementation of Touch Punch now means you can re-arrange entry list columns using the entry list column customizer via touch screen device, re-order your fields in the Form Editor via a touch screen device, and re-order choices on Drop Down, Radio Button and Checkbox fields via touch screen devices. It also means we’ll be making other things within the Form Editor, and Gravity Forms itself, touch enabled. So keep an eye out on where we take this in the future.

Remember, find the easter egg feature in this release and post a comment below with your guess… first person to guess correctly wins!
