Don’t own Gravity Forms yet? Purchase it now and get access to the 1.2 BETA release!

We are very excited to introduce a variety of new features with this release and we have outlined those features and enhancements below.

Bulk Add and Predefined Values

We have added the ability to bulk add values to drop down, multiple choice and checkbox fields. This makes it quick and easy to add a bunch of choices without having to add them one by one. Not only that, but we have also introduced some predefined values that will make it easy to populate fields with a variety of commonly used types of data such as: Countries, States, Months, etc. Select the predefined choices you want to edit, make any edits and add them with a click of your mouse!

Dynamic Field Population

In version 1.1.3 we introduced the ability to pass data from the form to the redirect page of your choice. In version 1.2 we have taken that a step further with the ability to pre-populate form fields using query string parameters, filters, shortcode or function call. This will allow you to pre-populate fields by passing data to the form. With this capability we have also introduced a new hidden field type that can be populated dynamically.

Improved Date Field

Gravity Forms v1.2 introduces some enhancements to the existing date field. Now you can chose between a text input Date Field or the existing jQuery Date Picker when adding a Date Field to your form. This provides more flexibility in handling dates in your forms.

Duplicate Forms

The ability to duplicate a form has been missing until now. With the 1.2 release you will be able to quickly duplicate a form. Duplicating a form creates an exact duplicate, including notification emails, and will make replicating forms quick and easy.

Form Scheduling And Entry Limits

Do you have a contest you are running and only want to accept the first 50 entries? Now you can. Gravity Forms v1.2 introduces the ability to turn off a form after a configurable number of entries has been reached. Not only that but we have also added the ability to schedule a form by entering a Start Date and End Date. This gives you even more control over when and how your forms are used.

Respond To Entries From WordPress

In previous versions of Gravity Forms the entries were viewable and editable, but you couldn’t respond to them via the WordPress Administration Panel. That changes with this release. Now you will be able to reply to an entry from within the Administration Panel by opting to email your entry notes to the person who submitted the entry. Subsequent email communications will take place via email, but this makes it quick and easy to make your initial reply from WordPress.

Role Management Integration

Do you need to give some access to your form entries but don’t want them accessing or editing the forms themselves? This is now possible by integrating with Justin Tadlock’s Members plugin for Role Management. By using Gravity Forms with the Members plugin you have granular control over what users can and can’t access within the Gravity Forms admin. This feature requires the Members plugin, a free download available from the WordPress.org repository.

Post Creation Enhancements

This release of Gravity Forms gives you more control over both the Post Status and Post Author for posts that are created via Gravity Forms. You can now choose what Post Status should be used (Draft, Pending Review, Published) and you can opt for use the WordPress user id if the user submitting the form if they are logged in. This combined with the Role Management capabilities will make it possible for you to take form submissions AND allow editing capabilities by creating a role that gives a user access to edit their own posts. This capability is only possible using Gravity Forms in tandem with Justin Tadlock’s Members plugin for Role Management and will require you to configure things to work properly.

And More!

We have also implemented a variety of bug fixes, plugin conflict fixes as well as enhancements to the notification capabilities. We have added some additional form variables that are available for use in Notification emails, and have also made the Reply To for admin notifications configurable.

If you use the beta release, please keep us updated with any bugs or issues that you may find when using the plugin. As with any beta plugin you may want to make a backup of your WordPress database before installing this plugin.
