Announcing the news everyone has been waiting for – Gravity Forms 2.5 will go live on Tuesday, 27th April, 2021! This is one of our most important releases (ever!) and we can’t wait for the Gravity Forms community to experience building forms with 2.5.

Gravity Forms 2.5 is a major update, so we are planning on launching 2.5 via a staggered rollout, to ensure the smooth adoption of this release. In this article, we explain what a staggered rollout means for Gravity Forms users, give you more information on what you can expect from 2.5, and share a number of 2.5 resources to help you get the most out of this release.

Gravity Forms 2.5 Rollout

We are excited to announce that Gravity Forms 2.5 has a target date for release – Tuesday, 27th April. As mentioned, because Gravity Forms 2.5 is such a major release, we have opted for a staggered rollout.

The staggered rollout will see 2.5 released to a small section of customers each day – this means that you’ll be able to get the 2.5 update through your WordPress admin at some point during the rollout period following Tuesday, 27th April.

That said, we know that some of our customers can’t wait to get their hands on 2.5 – and we don’t blame you! If this is you, then 2.5 will also be available to all our customers to download from your Gravity Forms account dashboard.

To summarize:

• Gravity Forms 2.5 Update in WordPress Admin – All customers can expect to receive an update during the rollout period following the 27th April. You will need to manually update the plugin within your WordPress Admin.

• For Those Who Can’t Wait! – Gravity Forms 2.5 will be available for all our customers to download from within your Gravity Forms account dashboard from Tuesday, 27th April.

Gravity Forms 2.5: An Overview

With Gravity Forms 2.5 you will find impressive improvements and additions to our form builder and the form building experience it provides. With a focus on accessible forms, and a complete redesign of our form editor, we know that 2.5 is going to make a big difference to all of our customers.

• The Form Editor – The Gravity Forms editor has been revamped, making it easier to use than ever before. You can expect a complete redesign of the UI, with new ways of working and a beautiful look and feel.

• Drag-and-Drop Column Control– 2.5 introduces drag-and-drop column control so you can easily manage form layouts. Enjoy column control for up to four columns, enabling you to position form fields in the order and layout of your choice, and create unique forms to your exact requirements.

• Accessibility – Ethically and legally, creating accessible forms is becoming more and more essential. 2.5 provides the tools you need to easily create accessible frontend forms for your users – helping you to engage with your audience and boost form submissions. So whether you’re running a .gov or .org website, you’re in charge of an educational institution or non-profit organization, or you’ve got a small business or services site that you want to make accessible to all, Gravity Forms 2.5 will help to ensure your forms are accessible.

• Updates to Markup and Styles – 2.5 provides new and improved markup and styles, making it easier to customize frontend forms as well as create accessible forms.
