One of the biggest challenges we face at Gravity Wiz is explaining just how much Gravity Perks can do for users. How can we summarize the functionality of 47+ plugins and thousands of snippets in one article?

One great approach? Real-world use cases. Live, tangible examples — published out there on the internet right now — that show the sorcery of Gravity Perks in action.

This article does you one better. We’ll illuminate what Gravity Perks can do through some of our most epic builds, what you’ll discover through them, and optionally, show you how to build them yourself. Step by step!

Ready?

Let’s start with how you can dynamically populate troves of data with Gravity Forms Advanced Select.

Gravity Wiz is a third-party certified developer and its add-ons are not supported by Gravity Forms. As always, we recommend you extensively evaluate all plugins to ensure their suitability for your purpose before installation on your website.

Real time searching 40,000 albums with AlbumBlitz

The gist: AlbumBlitz is on a mission to catalog the world’s music. So far, they have over 40,000 albums complete with tracklists, release details, streaming options, and more.

The team needed to make their vast collection searchable and accessible, in real time. After testing a few tools, they ended up on Gravity Forms Advanced Select, which makes Gravity Forms Drop Down and Multi Select fields searchable, extensible, and capable of populating massive datasets.

Accessibility was also a key factor in choosing GP Advanced Select, as Elle Dulaney, the lead behind the project, is blind.

What you’ll learn: how to use Gravity Forms Advanced Select to dynamically populate thousands of choices into Gravity Forms and filter through these results instantly on your website.

Dynamic event booking forms that scale with growth

The gist: Farbie.at was on the hunt for a booking system with the flexibility to book their venue’s five rooms separately, with unique requirements for each, at a volume of over 1000 parties per year.

The solution also had to allow for dynamic pricing levels and availability based on date, group size, and other factors.

Mehran Faradji was building this out when he landed on Gravity Forms Inventory. As he explained to us:

“I tried many out-of-the-box solutions. The booking software for hotels/rooms doesn’t allow multiple bookings of the room on the same day. Other software (i.e. for appointments) was also not suitable… With the great support of the Gravity Wiz team, I was able to adjust GP Inventory to my needs.”

Inside, we break down how Gravity Forms Inventory was used to meet Mehran’s requirements.

Registration Admin for Las Vegas Conferences with Entry Blocks

The gist: Conference planning can get messy. Attendees register late, cancellations occur, speakers change, and plenty of other surprises become standard.

To manage contingencies, Communication Geeks built a backend administration platform for a client — The American Academy of Pediatrics — who were holding their 44th annual conference in Las Vegas.

The tool allows conference admins to manage and make changes to all registrations (i.e. Gravity Forms entries) from the front end, and it’s powered by Gravity Forms Entry Blocks.

Building a loan calculator with Advanced Calculations

The gist: Sonder.com.au had a client that needed an auto-loan calculator. Like this:

Loan Calculator

We’ll let the client describe the build:

“The build was for an Upwork client who already had another freelancer try and use another plugin which was specifically made for the purpose – it was clunky and slow. The Gravity Wiz plugin was intuitive. The form itself was a Gravity Form so it was familiar and easy to style up.

Ten out of ten!”

Automating member registration with Populate Anything

The gist: Remanufacturing Industries Council (Reman Council) members are companies, and large ones. When a new company becomes a member, employees from that company get access to a number of resources offered through Reman Council’s website.

Wizardess Michelle Hayes built Reman Council a membership portal to accomplish this, using Gravity Forms & Gravity Perks. When she found the registration process for new companies to be a bit cumbersome, she brought Gravity Forms Populate Anything into the mix to speed up the process. In this use case, we explore at a high level exactly how she got it done.

What you’ll discover: how Gravity Forms Populate Anything can be used to automate new member registration on any website.
