Gravity Flow – Powerful Automation For WordPress
Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow work together to add powerful automation functionality to WordPress.
If you want to automate your workflows, turning paper-based systems into automated systems powered by online forms, then Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow make that possible.
Gravity Flow lets you build unlimited multi-step workflows with 40+ different action steps. You can mix and match these steps as needed to match your business’s workflows.
Here are some of the things that you can automate:
- Send one or more emails on different schedules (or you can also send text messages via Twilio).
- Assign the form entry for approval. For example, if you create an employee vacation request form, you could have employees fill out the form and then assign it to HR for approval.
- Generate PDF documents.
- Accept payments at any point in the workflow.
- …lots more – again, there are 40+ actions to choose from.
As a form entry moves through a workflow, its journey is tracked. Thanks to this, you get an easy way to monitor and evaluate your workflows.
If you’re tired of chasing pieces of paper around the office or you’ve had enough of emails getting lost in your organizational inboxes, creating custom automated workflows with Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow is a robust alternative.

About the Gravity Flow Vacation Requests Extension
As mentioned, one way you can use Gravity Flow in your organization is to automate vacation requests.
By creating such a workflow, employees can submit a vacation request via a form on your site.
The form entry would be automatically sent to a manager or HR for their consideration. Once the request is approved or denied, the employee is automatically notified.
Depending on how you build the workflow, employees could have the option of modifying their vacation dates after they’ve been approved. Doing so would then automatically restart the approval process, with input requested from managers/HR.
Managers and HR could add internal notes to the requests as well as add notes for the employee, such as information on their remaining vacation days.
While Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow can handle most of the above, the Gravity Flow Vacation Requests Extension makes setting up an online automated vacation request workflow even easier.
As part of the functionality of the extension, you’ll be able to use the Vacation Days field to display and calculate how many vacation days the employee using the request form has remaining.
With the extension, the vacation days information, such as annual paid time off, compensatory days, carry-over days, and days remaining, is available in your WordPress admin.
This information can also be displayed on published pages of your site, such as the employee profile pages, through the use of shortcodes.
Using merge tags to automatically insert this information into the notification emails sent by the workflow is possible, too.
