Gravity Forms v1.9.3 Released

Carl Hancock By Carl Hancock Published March 5, 2015

Gravity Forms v1.9.3 is now available via automatic update and the customer downloads page. This is a major maintenance and security release.

We recommend all users update as soon as possible. It is important to always keep WordPress, plugins and themes up to date as a matter of best practice. We sound like a broken record when it comes to updating WordPress, but it’s critical that WordPress users keep their sites up to date as standard procedure.

On that note, we are enabling background automatic updates for maintenance releases by default with this release. This will not change settings on existing sites. Only new installs. Background automatic update behaves exactly like it does in WordPress core and only background updates are only automatically executed when it is a maintenance release. Standard automatic update is used with feature releases. Background automatic updates are also disabled by default and cannot be enabled in Gravity Forms if you have disabled this feature in WordPress. You can also disable the feature for Gravity Forms specifically via the Settings page. However, we highly recommend not doing so unless absolutely necessary for your workflow.

If background automatic updates are enabled they will occur when WordPress checks for updates. This typically occurs every 12 hours. If you’d like to update sooner you can install the update by going to the Updates page under the Forms navigation in your WordPress Dashboard.

API Updates in Gravity Forms v1.9.3

  • Removed authentication for the POST forms/[ID]/submissions endpoint.
  • Fixed an issue with GFAPI::add_entry() which can result in entry values being blank for email, date and time fields.
